china blocks: reddit recently block on 2018 August 11 to present, discordapp, pinterest, pixiv(japaness art site) , archive(org), wattpad,
imgur, viber (app), amazon, whatsapp, HBO, Dropbox, twitch,
Baidu (chiness google) is fully blocked.

china bans:
Maplestory 2  is banned (is also banned in many other countrys but mostly asia like Thailand, India, Mongolia and so on.)(searched in google)

Monster Hunter: World  is banned
(Monster Hunter: World, which has been extremely popular in the West since it was released in January. The game had arrived on the market in China and was pre-ordered by one million Chinese people.
China has previously forbidden computer games due to, for example, violent content. )

approvals freeze game licenses, needed to make corrective action(make very less violence and censor/ no skulls) to be sold.
games temporary banned: Fortnite, PUBG, H1Z1, Paladins, OW, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, and League of Legends.

Rainbow Six Siege's Chinese ver. features censored content (fix up, so its looks less violence) so the game don't get banned.

hi, I'm now in Shanghai for visiting my grandparents and also get to meet my mothers fathers family. (family reunion, and get to see those who only have meet me when I was like 5?)

As for the title blocked sites in (main country) china
Well most of you have heard of China blocking socialmedia like facebook and twitter. That's because they will make there own socialmedias that they can control, so they know what you are writing(or that's what i have heard) so they have there own chinese facebook and youtube as well as other they can rip off and have better control over.

The only search engine you can use in china is bing(.)com and baidu(.)com

google is almost blocked, but you can only go to google-translate site.

Also recently they have blocked access to tumblr (completely blocked now, but before they only blocked tags and search) I thikn its because it recently got chatroom implemented and china want to block chat'room' so the rest of the world can not contract chinese citizens and visa versa. (one of the reason fb, twitter, google+ and so on got blocked)
So now I can't go to my tumblr until I come back to denmark. My tumblr is now posting queued post.

Had just also heard that deviantart itself Should be blocked in china. but somehow I can go to deviantart with no problem. (checking with grandparents internet with my own laptop I have with me, works fine.)(had also tested going to this site when I was visiting other family at a family reunion. It's works fine but I have only checked it on there ipad.)(I had heard it's only sometimes blocked temporally/certain periods.)

I'm checking other website to see which is blocked and which is not censored.
works fine/not black-listed:
tvtropes.org , kotaku.com , hotmail.com , animenewsnetwork.com , serebii.net , imgur.com ,
twitch (but with slow internet I only manged to load the background page(which is dark-gray color) and its takes too long to load the rest.), reddit (is kinda working, but the websites text got break down because of slow internet, but it will load more fine if using google-chrome), bandcamp.com (soundcloud is blocked, so to listen to musics then go to bandcamp), pixiv.me (japanese version of deviantart/art site.)
probably most of the Team Fortress 2 website and trade sites (teamfortress.com and backpack.tf etc.) as well as other valve website (dota2.com and blog.counter-strike.net and trade sites)(there is no reason to block them.)

fanfiction.net and ao3 is not blocked, but people have been arrested for writing gay fanfiction, especially erotica. This hasn't stopped China's Sherlock and Supernatural fandoms though.

I can go to mangastream.com (but with this slow internet at my grandparents home it can not load a image over 100x100pixel and end up breaking it)(same problem on deviantart, it can only load 100x100)

The internet I have to deal with now is so slow, that I can't be sure that checking if the website is blocked or not is really legit since it's take so long to load.

to indicate if the website is block it has to end up with:
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
(^that's what i got from google-chrome^)

My grandparents internet is so slow because they want to save money and they don't use it much. (so lame)
I want to go back to Denmark now!

(copy-paste from some website)

The government in china has a lot of power and inclination to ban anything it feels has a bad influence on the chinese people. This, of course, would include works which criticize or undermine the government, make fun of China or the Chinese as a whole, or reference the more unpleasant events in China's history, particularly the history the current regime was around for.

The system developed by the Ministry of Public Security, (MPS) to control access to websites considered “dangerous” for Chinese citizens.

Which websites are blocked in China?

Here’s a list of the most popular websites which, at the moment, are blocked in China:

Social

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, Picasa, WordPress.com, Blogspot, Blogger, Flickr, SoundCloud, Google+, Google Hangouts, Hootsuite.

Apps

Google Play (this means that without a VPN you won’t be able to download any apps from Google Play), Line, KaKao Talk.

Search engines

Google (both Google.com and the majority of local versions like Google.com.hk, Google.fr, etcetera), Duck Duck Go, various foreign versions of Baidu and Yahoo.

Media

The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist Bloomberg, Reuters, LeMonde, L’Equipe (What do they have against the French?), Netflix, Youtube, Vimeo, Google News, Daily Motion, many pages of Wikipedia, Wikileaks.

Work tools

Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar (generally all Google services), Dropbox, ShutterStock, iStockPhotos, WayBackMachine, archive(.org), Scribd, Xing, Android, and many VPN sites.

Lewd

lewd sites are almost all blocked; I don’t know of any exceptions.

And if the site I’m interested in isn’t on this list?

The list published in this article is not exhaustive and bear in mind that the situation is constantly changing – a site that’s blocked today could work tomorrow – as well as just the opposite – a site that works today could stop working within twenty minutes.

The only solution to visit blocked websites is to subscribe to a VPN service or use proxy.
